The Leader of the Senate, Micheal Opeyemi Bamidele, has announced that the long-awaited ministerial list will be received by the Senate within the next 48 hours.
He made this revelation during the book launch and conference on his 60th birthday anniversary in Abuja.
Bamidele revealed that President Bola Tinubu personally informed him of this development during a phone call to wish him well on his birthday.
He said that President Tinubu told him that he would not be able to attend the birthday conference due to an urgent communication that he had to submit to the Senate within the next 48 hours.
This communication is expected to contain the ministerial list, which will detail the people nominated for ministerial positions in the government.
In a lecture, former Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Professor Toyin Ogundipe, urged political office holders to reduce the number of vehicles in their convoys as a show of empathy for the Nigerian people during these difficult times.
He stressed that agencies such as the Vehicle Inspection Officials (VIO) and the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) should not be part of the entourage of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima as long as the police presence is adequate.
Ogundipe said: “Our leaders need to reduce the number of vehicles in their convoy so that Nigerians know that you feel their pain.
“There is nothing that Saw, the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) is doing in the environment of the president and the vice president once there are police officers in the convoy.”
