PNP Parliamentary Primaries: Market Women Elect Forms For Ekow Ewusi

The candidacy of Horace Ekow Ewusi to become the party’s parliamentary candidate in the Cape Coast North constituency, a former central regional vice-chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has received a huge boost.

Market women, traders and rickshaw drivers on Tuesday July 11, 2023 chose nomination forms for the boot-tying aspirant to contest the seat.

The move is in line with the NPP’s announcement to open nominations in orphan constituencies where the party has no sitting parliamentarians.

They were accompanied by hundreds of delegates and residents of the Cape Coast North constituency to the party secretariat where they presented a check for GH¢3,000.00 for the nomination forms.

According to them, the money was jointly obtained from their sales, explaining that Mr. Ekow Ewusi had done a lot for the Abura market women, so they are supporting him to become a legislator.

They then went to the applicant’s home and officially presented the nomination forms while pledging their support.

Upon receiving the forms, Mr. Ekow Ewusi expressed his gratitude for their support and promised to work hard to earn the trust and support of the people of Cape Coast North.

“I promised that with this nomination form you bought it for me with your own mine. I will never let you down but will work or meet your expectations,” Mr. Ekow Ewusi promised.

“I can assure you that on December 7, 2024 I will also present you with the seat of the parliamentary victory,” he assured.

The New Patriotic Party (PNP) opened this Tuesday the nominations for parliamentary primaries in orphan constituencies where the party has no representation and ends on Thursday, August 10, 2023.
