The government has announced that tolls will be free on 33 roads for four days during the 2023 Hari Raya holiday period. I guess you could call it ‘tol rahmah‘?
The free period will start from midnight today, April 19, 2023 at 00:01 until the end of April 21, 2023 at 23:59, as well as all of April 24, 2023. The toll is not free on April 22 and 23.
While you will not need to pay tolls during these free days, you will still need to use your Touch ‘n Go Card, smart tag and rfid tag as usual because the barriers are still operational.
If things work the same way they did during the previous free period during CNYthere will be some rules to follow.
If you go through a toll plaza after the cut-off date, you will be charged the full toll for your trip, even if you started your trip within the toll-free period.
If you’re on the freeway and can’t get to your destination before the free period ends, you can simply exit at the nearest junction before 11:59 pm and re-enter the freeway. That way, you only have to pay tolls for the rest of your trip.
Of course, this does not apply to roads that do not use entry and exit point systems. For all other highways, just make sure you go through the toll plaza before the 11:59 p.m.
