
Following a delay, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will finally launch on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC on May 25 in an aptly named, standard edition. “Precious Edition” that includes some extra stuff. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is a new LOTR adventure that sees players explore the world of Middle-earth through the eyes of the infamous Gollum with gameplay focused on stealth and agility rather than combat.

Lord of the Rings: Gollum Pre-Order Bonuses
All pre-orders for The Lord of the Rings: Gollum include a pack of six exclusive in-game emotes for Gollum. The voucher comes with physical and digital copies of the standard and Precious editions.
$50-$60
If you just want the game, you can pre-order it for $60 at major retailers. You can also pre-purchase digital copies at stores, including Steam. Unlike the console versions, Gollum for PC is only $50.
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum has a version for Xbox platforms (it works on both Xbox Series X and Xbox One). But like many other games, there are separate disc versions for PS5 and PS4. If you get the PS4 disc, you will be able to play on both PS4 and PS5. Naturally, the PS5 drive doesn’t work on PS4.
$60-$70

Players who want to dive deeper into The Lord of the Rings: Gollum’s Vision of Middle-earth can get the digital-only Precious Edition on PS4, PS5, Xbox, for $70, and PC for $60. This version includes the base game. plus an “Art Expedition” app containing over 100 sketches and other behind-the-scenes details, a story compendium, and an official soundtrack featuring music from the game. There is also a Sindarin voiceover DLC expansion that adds elvish dialogue spoken in authentic Sindarin, one of the languages JRR Tolkien created for the series.
The action takes place during the story of The Fellowship of the Ring, although instead of following Frodo and his friends, we will be treated to a story told solely through the eyes of Gollum.
Since Gollum isn’t well-versed with a sword or bow, you’ll find yourself sneaking around in the shadows rather than jumping headlong into battle. The gangly creature excels at climbing into the nooks and crannies of each level, and you’ll need to be careful with each step if you don’t want to be noticed. There are also plenty of narrative sequences that can change the game based on your choice of dialogue. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum arrives on May 25, so we don’t have much longer to wait before we can try out the latest LOTR video game.
