One group, the Abia North Peace Foundation, has skinned Senator Mao Ohuabunwa for his comments about Senate leader Orji Uzor Kalu.
Ohuabunwa, who lost the senatorial races to Kalu in 2019 and 2023, in a recent TV interview, claimed that Senator Kalu is incompetent to lead the Nigerian Senate.
But in response to Ohuabunwa, the Abia North Peace Foundation accused him of seeking relevance by attacking Kalu.
The group’s chairman general, Chief Nnanna Ukaegbu, has maintained that Kalu is qualified to run for the Senate presidency.
The group expressed surprise that Ohuabunwa, son of Abia North, was leading a campaign against Kalu’s ambition.
Ohuabunwa was quoted in the television interview as saying: “I will feel very bad because I don’t think I am competent to run the Senate.”
