Viewing The Office within the Metaverse is now possible because Peacock launched as an app for Meta Quest VR in the US. This marks the first time the streaming service has been available on a VR headset, according to Meta.
Current owners of Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest Pro can receive three months of Peacock Premium for free, as long as they do not currently subscribe to the service. Meanwhile, new purchases of the VR headset for next year will come with a free year of Peacock Premium.
Goal it adds that Quest owners can play other apps or browse the Internet while watching shows like Parks and Recreation on Peacock. In addition to multitasking, viewing of content in full cinema mode is also offered.
Peacock’s arrival in VR headsets is part of a three-year partnership between NBC Universal and Meta. In the future, Horizon Worlds will feature an experience based on The Office, for example.
Last month, Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest Pro got big price cutswith the latter seeing savings of $500. The Meta Quest 2 drive (256GB) saw $70 slashed from its retail price to $430.
Meta Quest 2 was selected as GameSpot best VR headsets of 2023. Meanwhile, the Pro was recognized as the best high-end standalone headset.
