DMZ smuggled weapons were previously unmoddable, but Season 3 of Call of Duty: Warzone 2 adds a workbench feature that allows you to finally customize your contraband items. Here’s everything you need to know about the new DMZ workbench feature.
Where to find workbenches
DMZ Season 3 adds workbenches to the maps, and these are new locations that can be found near buy stations. The workbenches are not marked on the map, just head to the nearest buy station marked on your map, and the workbench will be nearby. It looks like a black tool cabinet on wheels.
How to add and remove attachments
The workbench works similar to the Gunsmith feature. You can choose to mod any of your currently equipped weapons and then add and/or remove attachments to get the build you want. Of course, there are some limitations here.
First, you’ll want to make sure you have some money saved up or some salvaged loot ready to sell, because you’ll need to pay for each attachment added. Fortunately, the Buy Station will be nearby to sell all your valuables.
The workbench allows you to pay $3,000 per attachment. Like Battle Royale and multiplayer, you can only equip a maximum of five attachments. You’ll need $15,000 if you want to fully upgrade a weapon with five attachments of your choice.
The workbench will give you full access to all weapon attachments you’ve unlocked in-game, and any attachments you haven’t unlocked yet will show as locked and unavailable here.
Most of the contraband weapons you acquire in the DMZ will have at least one or two attachments, but don’t worry, it doesn’t cost anything to destroy the attachments at the workbench. Just make sure you definitely don’t want the attachment because you can’t get it back.
This should help you with everything you need to know about customizing your contraband weapons in the DMZ.
