Adult film star Stormy Daniels said in a new interview that the impeachment of former President Trump for his alleged role in a hush money payment to her “doesn’t feel like a victory.”
Trump pleaded not guilty to 43 felony counts of falsifying business records after investigation by a Manhattan prosecutor, becoming the first current or former US president to face criminal charges.
“It doesn’t feel like I thought he would,” Daniels told New York Magazine of Trump’s impeachment.
“It just doesn’t feel like anything,” he added. “It doesn’t feel like a win.”
He had previously called the former president’s accusation “poetic” but “bittersweet.”
Trump is facing charges over a six-figure payment made to Daniels by his former fixer, Michael Cohen, in the midst of Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign to hush up his allegations of an alleged affair, which Trump denies.
Daniels has said she hopes to testify against Trump in court if she is called to do so.
Because I have nothing to hide. I’m the only one who’s been telling the truth,” Daniels told broadcaster Piers Morgan in an interview last week.
Trump, who lost his 2020 White House re-election bid, is now the leading Republican candidate for president in 2024.
