Fortnite keeps the Lantern Fest event going with some new quests, including one that asks you to complete three parkour challenges on Lantern Fest Tour Island. These will test your platforming skills and reflexes, but we’ll tell you where to find them, including the slippery slide, and give you a general idea of what you’re up against for your 40,000 XP.
All parkour challenge locations and how to beat them
You can find the Parkour Paradise tent that houses all three parkour challenges on the west side of the island, just past the Slurp Juice store. It should be noted, however, that completing the Slippery Slide course at the back (north) side of the island will also reward you with progress towards your three parkour challenges.
jungle trip
You’ll need to jump over some logs here first, which the game seems all but determined to make impossible due to the fact that Fortnite isn’t exactly designed for platforming. If you can jump to the right and hold the button for cover, you might be able to get through it with a patchy cover, but good luck.
On the other side, use the grappling gun here to attach yourself to the pillars and swing, releasing and reattaching each one as your swing approaches its best height. At the end, you will receive a bow that you can use to shoot the target and finish the challenge.
sand is lava
Immediately jump through all four bowls (sconces?) and then bounce off all four launch pads. On the next platform, start running and stay on the ledge, repeating this process again directly forward. Shoot the moving target with your bow and you will be teleported to another platform where you need to look down and do the same, once again teleport forward. Now cross the moving mats to receive a Falcon Scout item.
Use the Falcon Scout from your inventory and fly through the gap in the wall to a puzzle where you need to find the correct door. The order of the correct doors from left to right is as follows:
- First Room – Door 1
- Second Bedroom – Door 2
- Third Room – Door 2
- Room Room – Door 4
Finally, propel the Falcon Scout towards the objective to be transported to the final section of the challenge. Here, simply jump across the moving platforms, then slowly climb up the string lights before jumping onto the platform ahead to finish the challenge. The last part is easier said than done, though: the game’s physics don’t seem to want to work for you, so be very careful.
survive the kitchen
When you start, find open cabinets on the left side of the kitchen and move them up to the counter. Quickly run past the stove flames, then weave between the moving plants. However, plant hit detection is quite unstable, so it may fail and you may have to restart this section once or twice before getting past it. Once you get to the sink, you’ll need to jump to the first cup, then the middle section, and then the second cup.
After cleaning the sink, head to the end and take the elevator up to the top shelf. Here, you’ll need to dodge some moving orange walls, so run around the box and then over the table and shelf. When you get to the last one, stand on the floating platform until the orange wall passes you, then take off and jump onto the umbrella. Jump from there to the last section where you should be able to easily dodge the moving items and enter the triangle hole to finish the course.
