When news of Jon’s passing reached the group, a flood of tributes and condolences began to pour in. Friends, relatives and members of the rugby team shared their memories of Jon on Petersfield’s Shine Radio, presenting a beautiful portrait of the person he was. and the indelible influence he left behind. It was obvious that Jon’s life had been characterized by selflessness, dedication, and an honest love for the people around him.

It is with great sadness that Petersfield RFC reports that Jon Walker lost his fight against cancer this morning. As many members of the membership will know, Jon was a stalwart of the membership as a participant, coach, supervisor, and supporter. He will be fondly remembered by all those who knew him, those who played with him, were trained by him, and were contacted by him last minute to help build a team. He could be missed. Our ideas are together with his wife and family at this time.
Petersfield has lost an excellent Charachter. He coached us through the Colts and then to Senior Rugby, he kept most of us straight and lean. He may be missed by so many.
