IMANI Ghana President Franklin Cudjoe has revealed that Kidi-born Ghanaian Afrobeat and highlife singer-songwriter Dennis Nana Dwamena is one of his top five (5) artists in Ghana.
The 2022 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) Artist of the Year has had to cancel his US tour after selling out tickets to sponsors.
Earlier this year, his management in a statement stated that the tour had been canceled due to ill health, however no refund issues were mentioned.
The statement also did not mention whether he will embark on the tour after he recovers.
This week, there were rumors that Kidi was suffering from a stroke; a story that was quickly debunked by Richie Mensah, CEO of Lynx Entertainment, Kidi’s record label.
Reacting to the events, Franklin Cudjoe, who expressed his love for Kidi’s craft, asked for prayers for the artist who he says is one of the top five musicians in Ghana today.
He said, “Get well soon, KiDi. Sad that he had to cancel his American tour due to health problems. He is one of my top 5 Ghanaian musicians. Living with a disease is very challenging. Pray for us.”
