Private legal practitioner Maurice Ampaw has revealed that businessman and politician, Kennedy Agyapong, is only fit to be Vice President and not last.
The outspoken attorney believes the maverick politician has figured himself out as a lawmaker and needs to learn on the job before running for president.
Speaking on Kumasi-based Hello Fm, monitored by MyNewsGh.com, he revealed that Mr. Agyapong may be partnered with either John Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten or Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the 2024 election.
“He can be a very good vice president for anyone who becomes a flag bearer; either Alan or Bawumia. I think it needs to warm up. He has done well as a parliamentarian and needs to learn on the job. The president is difficult, so it would be better for him to warm up as vice president before looking at the final, ”he advised.
He also argued that he has age on his side and can transition from vice president to president after learning on the job.
Maurice Ampaw’s warning comes after the business magnate threatened to reveal secrets and collapse the nuclear power plant.
In an interview with Sompa FM in Kumasi, Mr. Agyapong said that if attempts were made to crash his businesses, he would “kill the party” with his revelations.
In a video interview, the would-be flag bearer said, “I am being kind and charitable to the NPP (members), they shouldn’t challenge me, they shouldn’t challenge me… I’ll end the party, the things I’ll say. I know that I have kept quiet about things”.
According to MP, he has been the victim of a state-sponsored manhunt by members of his party since the beginning of the year, alleging that the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) was being used as a vehicle to intimidate and thwart his business operations.
He claimed that the GRA wanted to station his staff at his cold chain stores to control the amount of fish he sells daily, warning: “Let me just say this, I have overcome intimidation. They can’t use the system to intimidate me, I have to say this, I have opened businesses in the last five presidents. I never went through any of this bullying.”
