Pedestrian Suffers Skull Fracture After He Was Hit By A Car Leaving Del Cerro Lot

A pedestrian suffered a brain hemorrhage Saturday after being struck by a BMW pulling out of a market parking lot in Del Cerro, san diego police saying.

The 63-year-old pedestrian was walking on the north side of the 6300 block of Del Cerro Boulevard at around 5:00 p.m. when the driver of an orange 2016 BMW I-3 approached from a driveway leading from the parking lot. of Windmill Farms.

The pedestrian started to cross the driveway, police said, and the 23-year-old driver of the BMW saw him walking in front of his car and waited. The driver, however, started his right turn too soon and struck the pedestrian with his right front end.

The man fell and hit his head on the sidewalk, suffering a fractured skull and a brain hemorrhage, but police said his injuries were not life-threatening.

DUI is not suspected to be a factor in the incident. The San Diego Police Traffic Division is investigating.
