EPL: Gary Neville identifies Man United’s top three players this season

Gary Neville, a Manchester United icon, has called Casemiro the club’s most valuable player this season.

He also named former Real Madrid and France international Raphael Varane as the Red Devils’ most important defensive option.

Casemiro moved to Old Trafford from Real Madrid for a £70m fee last summer and has been hugely influential to Erik ten Hag’s side.

The Brazil international scored in Manchester United’s Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United on Sunday to help the club end its six-year wait for a trophy.

Neville named Marcus Rashford and Casemiro as United’s most important players this season, with Varane and David de Gea sharing third place.

“In order, I would go to Casemiro, I would go to Rashford, I would go to De Gea and Varane in the same third place at the moment,” Neville told Sky Sports.
