‘Pakistan has always given India hard times’, former star on teams’ World Cup chances | Cricket News – Thelocalreport.in

The ODI World Cup, to be played later this year in India, will be a litmus test for the Indian cricket team led by Rohit Sharma. The team has not won an ICC title since 2013 and at home they will be prepared to lift the title. On the other hand, Pakistan’s performance will also be closely watched. The team led by Babar Azam has done consistently well in the last two editions of the T20 World Cup. ODIs are a different ballgame though, but former Pakistan pacemaker Aaqib Javed feels the team is up for the challenge.

“Pakistan has always given India a hard time. When the Pakistani team goes to India for the World Cup, they will have no problem playing on the courts there,” Javed said. quoted by Geo.tv.

Javed felt that Pakistan has a better bowling lineup than India. “Although recently India scored a lot of runs against New Zealand in the ODI series. But Pakistani bowling is not New Zealand bowling, so the Indian batsmen scored four hundred runs,” he said.

“Pakistan cricket team is better in ODI cricket as they have an advantage due to bowling. Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah are fully fit so it will benefit the team. Pakistan have Shadab Khan along with Mohammad Nawaz in India, so there will be no need for fast bowling. If Pakistan scores 300 runs, it will be very difficult for the other team to chase them,” he added.
