
Ahead of the game’s full reveal, the cover star of MLB The Show 23 was announced, and it’s 24-year-old Jazz Chisholm of the Miami Marlins. As many observed after the announcement, Chisholm was an unexpected choice.
He’s an exciting future player, but he doesn’t have the star power of, say, Shohei Ohtani, who was the cover star of MLB The Show 22. in a PlayStation Blog PostRamone Russell of San Diego Studio said, “Jazz Chisholm Jr.’s electric personality, game play, and love of all things baseball made him a great choice to be on the cover of MLB The Show 23.”
MLB The Show 23 launches on March 28, two days before MLB’s new season begins on March 30. The game will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Switch. The game will be available from day one on Xbox Game Pass. Pre-orders start on February 6.
Just like last year, there’s cross-play, cross-saves, and cross-progression, so players can share their progress between devices. No word yet on new features and updates to the game, but San Diego Studio will make those announcements as part of “Feature Premiere” video streams in the future.
The collector’s edition will be revealed on February 2.
