A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Communications Team, lawyer Edudzi Tamakloe says it is imperative that the government show some form of humility.
He says it will be imperative that the government recognize that its recklessness is what has brought the country to its knees.
Edudzi Tamakloe was speaking on Accra-based TV3 when he broke this.
He said “if you read the 2023 Budget, the provisional summary, you will notice that the depreciation of the cedi by just one point added almost 98 billion to the public debt. Once again, the irresponsibility of the Government’s Economic Management in stabilizing the cedis also further explains the swelling of the public debt”.
He continued: “What he expects from government communicators and possibly current managers of the economy is to exhibit a certain form of humility in which he acknowledges that his recklessness is what has brought the economy to its knees.”
Ghana’s economy is currently struggling with managers blaming COVID-19 and the Russia-Ukraine war.
The government has promised that it knows how to get the economy back on its feet and will work to ensure that they restore confidence in the economy and ensure that the standard of living improves for citizens.
