Five skills that can generate additional income

Of course, you are familiar with the global reality that learning new skills put an individual at an advantage in the modern world. You may have expected to learn a new skill in the near future.

But your mind may be having a hard time settling on the particular ability to learn. This could be for any of many reasons such as; “What skills to learn?” “Which platforms do I learn these skills on?” economic reasons, time and availability, lack of interest, laziness, etc.

In this article, I’ll suggest simple skills you could try. These are skills you’re pretty familiar with, but looking at them in today’s article might encourage you to stop putting off learning a new skill and just do it.

The digital world is big and offers a lot of opportunities for both organizations and their current and potential consumers.

Digital marketing is basically the use of digital technologies, as well as resources and the Internet to promote services and products.

While this particular skill is now quite common, having a high and adequate skill in digital marketing will require investment in specific courses and training.

Content Writing|Marketing
Sometimes content marketing, digital marketing, and content writing are used interchangeably, but this is incorrect.

Both skills are distinct and meet different needs within an organization.

Content marketing is the creation and sharing of free content without explicitly marketing a product or service. Think of content marketing as a subtle type of digital marketing through the means of content creation. This content can be in the form of written text, audio or video (parodies, etc.).

Content writing, on the other hand, is the process of planning, writing, and editing content for the web. In the case of Content Writing, the idea is not to market a product or service.

As with digital marketing, the training will sharpen content writing or marketing skills.

Graphic design
Graphic Design is the creation of visual content to communicate a message. Think of the e-flyers and posters you see online – these are just a few examples of the type of visual content created by graphic designers.

Why be interested in Graphic Design? Minus the unlimited opportunities this skill can create for a professional, this skill could open you up to other skills like Animation Design etc.

Fortunately, there are free and very affordable online courses available to learn this skill.

user interface/user experience
UI stands for User Interface, which is the aesthetic elements through which people interact with a product, while UX stands for User Experience, basically the experience a person has while using a digital product.

If you’d love to explore design in the tech space, this might be a good skill to learn.

Photography
If you have been thinking about taking up photography, this could be the sign you were looking for.

These days, you don’t need to worry about having the right devices to get started in photography. With a good smartphone, you can hone your skills, and then move up the ranks by acquiring the necessary gadgets.

In addition to photography, learning editing skills on popular platforms like Lightroom and Photoshop is a plus.

As I hinted at in the earlier paragraphs of this article, the skills mentioned above are simply suggestions for skills that I personally love.

There are tons, thousands, of skills waiting for you. For example, I have read that Data Analyst is one of the skills to look to the future.
