The day before it was 9 months late for a strange reason

The day before it has been delayed by almost an entire year, just weeks before its release. For those who haven’t been following, The day before is a great online survival game that feels like a much more nuanced and intuitive version of The division satisfies The last of us. It’s incredibly ambitious and the visuals they’ve shown look amazing, which led to the game becoming one of the most desired games on Steam at any given time. The hype is real, but fans are also incredibly skeptical. You see, this is a team that is very small and doesn’t really have the track record to support a game as big and ambitious as the one they’re putting out. PC gamers in particular are all too familiar with stories like this and have grown used to waiting and seeing what happens. However, they may be waiting a while.

The day before It was originally scheduled to launch in June 2022, but it was delayed to March 1, 2023. The developer Fntastic was planning a long game demo The day before in the imminent future, but that has been postponed. The developer took to Twitter to announce that it is once again making a last-minute delay to November 10, 2023, and the reason is strange. According to Fantastic, The day before was removed from Steam because someone else has the trademark for it The day before name and asked Steam to remove it. The developer is now working to resolve the issue, but will be too busy to do the aforementioned gameplay demo. They also provided a link to brand presentation.

Of course, fans were even more suspicious after this news. How this went undetected until just over a month before launch and right before the promised gameplay demo is incredibly bizarre. While the team is likely to simply change the name, it has generated a lot of hype over the past two years and the name is very well known among PC gamers, so a name change could lead to a marketing headache. Either way, we’ll just have to see how this plays out.
