Start your claim on the State Farm Insurance website
Click the “Start a Digital Claim” button.
Tell State Farm Insurance when it happened
Enter the date and time the incident occurred, as accurately as possible. If you were not present at the time of the incident, you can enter the time it was discovered.
Tell them what property or vehicle was hit
State Farm Insurance will provide you with a list of vehicles and/or property that you have insured with us. Select the one that was affected.
Note: There will also be options to select if you are injured by a vehicle that was not yours (such as a pedestrian or bicyclist), or if your property was damaged or lost somewhere outside of your home.
Enter your contact information
You will then be asked to enter contact information so that State Farm Insurance can contact you after submitting your claim. You can also add another person as an additional contact to receive your claim details and assist you if you need assistance.
If you are reporting a property claim and need emergency repairs, you will select your emergency service provider during this step.
Tell State Farm Insurance what happened
Be as precise as possible. Depending on the nature and complexity of your claim, State Farm Insurance will ask you about the people involved, the injuries you or others suffered, and the damage to your vehicle or home. This is also where you will upload any documents or photos you wish to send. The process can take five to ten minutes.
Check your claim
Carefully review the information you entered. If you need to change something, click “Edit” next to the section you want to change.
Select your service and/or certified repair shop for your car (if applicable).
This is where you can select a certified repair shop for your car from our list of quality providers. If you are eligible, you may also be required to set up your rental car service or request an Uber voucher.

Submit your claim
Either through live chat or directly through the online reporting form, after you submit your claim, it is sent to a priority queue of digital claims professionals. An adjuster will review the details and call you back within one business day. You can share additional details and images, or clarify any new information with this adjuster. They will also be able to answer any of your questions and tell you everything you need to know about next steps, what is needed from you, and what State Farm Insurance will do to handle your claim.
