If you’re a Lakers fan, you know your club desperately needs help right now. They’re starting to fall behind in the Western Conference, and making the playoffs will need a minor miracle. Overall, it’s a bad position, especially now that Anthony Davis is gone.
In just a couple of weeks from now, it will be the change deadline. Of course, the trade deadline is one of the best opportunities for a team to improve. However, it will be difficult for the Lakers to do anything since their assets have dwindled in recent years.
According to Heavy.com’s Sean Deveney, the Lakers are looking for a young player for the New York Knicks. That player turns out to be Cam Reddish. Reddish is a player who, according to some, has not been well received by the teams in which he has played.
Also, in terms of assets returning to New York, it is believed that Patrick Beverley and Kendrick Nunn would have to be part of the deal. Overall, this isn’t the biggest trade the Lakers could make, however, everything helps at this point.
LeBron James wants to win his fifth title, and the Lakers can’t do it the way they’re currently built. However, it’s hard to see Reddish really moving the needle here. Whatever happens, the Lakers need more.
