Resorts, today announced the launch of its European corporate office led by Robert Koren, who joins the company as Senior Vice President and Area General Manager of Europe, Middle East and Africa. The appointment highlights the accelerated growth of SH Hotels & Resorts and its focus on expanding the footprint of each brand in the region.
In this role, Robert will oversee all aspects of SH Hotels & Resorts, development and relationships with owners in the region, ensuring the best experience for guests and results for partners and owners. He will oversee the operations of Treehouse Hotel London and Skt Petri Copenhagen (to become 1 Hotel Copenhagen in 2025); 1 Mayfair Hotel and Treehouse Manchester, which are due to open soon, as well as the spearhead openings for the company’s portfolio of new properties, including Baccarat Rome, Baccarat Florence, 1 Elounda Hills Hotel, 1 Paris Hotel and the new constructions of all 3 brands in Riyadh. The company will double its portfolio in the next 3-5 years with several new projects to be announced shortly.

Robert’s extensive international experience was based on his position of responsibility in the Finance and sectors of operations. In his career, he has opened prestigious establishments, such as the St. Regis in New York, Florence, Rome and the Hotel Cala di Volpe on the Costa Smeralda. “It is key to the continued expansion of SH Hotels & Resorts, especially in EMEA, to establish a strong infrastructure to support our brands in key disciplines. Robert will lead an experienced team based in London providing design and operational support to the EMEA projects,” adds Raul.
Robert joined Belmond in February 2017, overseeing properties in Europe, the Middle East and Africa after many years of experience managing over 60 Starwood Hotel properties in places including Italy, Malta, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey and Israel.
Robert will headline the European corporate team at SH Hotels and Resorts, based in London, UK, to create a strong infrastructure for the existing portfolio and future growth.
