This week Tolland residents are deeply saddened by the absence of Ryan Angers, a beloved 23-year-old athlete who passed away on January 16. His achievements in local high school sports are unparalleled.
How did Ryan Anger die? What was his reason behind the loss of life?
The tragic loss of Angers’ life, at the age of 23, so unexpectedly and with an unknown trigger, has left many grieving. Angers had accomplished a lot in his fast life. He was a celebrated wrestler at Tolland High College, as well as playing football; He was also interested in adventure sports such as cliff jumping, mountaineering, and backcountry snowboarding. A friend fondly described him as a “teammate but a brother” who will be sorely missed. It is clear from the testimonies of his good character and spirit that it left a mark on him and will not be forgotten.
Who was Ryan’s anger?
Ryan Angers was a vibrant young man who never missed an opportunity to meet life’s challenges. His mom and dad, Kathie and Russ Angers, watched with satisfaction as his son boldly and enthusiastically put his wishes into action. Ryan traveled the world, exploring exciting places and making new friends while having fun with water sports like cliff jumping, mountaineering and even backcountry snowboarding. He always welcomed everyone with open arms and greeted them with a warm smile that reflected his love for life. Although Ryan’s life was sadly less fast-paced, he will always be remembered for his bravery, ferocity on the journey, and unconditional love for his mother Kathie, his brothers Josephine and Michael, as well as his grandmother.
