I only received updates on the Cathedral Project from The News despite being a trustee – Bishop Dag

Despite being a board member and trustee of the national cathedral project, LightHouse Chapel International founder Bishop Dag Heward-Mills has said that information and progress updates on the project only reached him through News.

The now-resigned cathedral trustee said some of the information reaching him was surprising, as many decisions were made without input from the trustees.

“As a trustee, I also read many issues related to the National Cathedral in the news, and I am as surprised as the public about many of the facts.” he wrote in a leaked resignation letter.

“Therefore, I have accepted for some time that I am not a trustee of the National Cathedral, but I have still sought to help with the Cathedral because I believe in the President’s vision and I don’t have to be a legally registered trustee to do so. so. I refer to myself in this letter as a trustee because, although I am not aware of most of the important decisions of the Board, I am known as such.” he added he.

for gagging

Bishop Dag Heward-Mills revealed that there was a gag order against the trustees from answering any questions from the press about the project.

This, he said, is testimony that something was wrong as they, as trustees, lacked the necessary information about the project.

“The fact that the trustees do not know what is happening is confirmed by the fact that at one point we were asked not to answer questions about the National Cathedral to the press and only one person was supposed to speak to the press,” wrote. .

“If we are trustees running the Cathedral’s business, how come we can’t reasonably answer any questions related to the Cathedral? In fact, it’s because we really don’t know much about what’s going on that we’ve been told not to answer questions in the press,” he added.
