Team India unlocked a new milestone on Sunday after recording a massive 317-run victory over Sri Lanka in the third and final ODI match, to become the first team to achieve victory by such a large margin. Posting a total of 390/5, courtesy of top hits from Virat Kohli (166*) and Shubman Gill (116), Team India edged out Sri Lanka by a meager 73 runs after Mohammed Siraj took a haul of four fields. Apart from all this, one thing that will definitely stay in the memory of the fans and the players is the shocking sacking of the visitors’ captain Dasun Shanaka by Kuldeep Yadav.
In the over 15 of the Sri Lankan chase, Kuldeep lobbed a spin toss to Shanaka, who was completely fooled as the ball missed the bat and hit the center stump. A surprised Shanaka departed after scoring 11 runs.
