
In To further his administration’s proactive measures to combat fire outbreaks, prevent, control and extinguish fires in Enugu State, especially during this dry season, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi yesterday donated Millions of Naira worth of Fire Ball extinguishers to all the main markets of the state.
Speaking during the handover of fire fighting equipment to market leaders at the Enugu State Fire Station head office in Enugu, State Fire Marshal Eng. Okwudiri Ohaa explained that the Ball Fire Extinguishers de Fuego will act as palliatives in the event of a fire outbreak in the markets.
Ohaa recalled that Governor Ugwuanyi approved in 2019 the installation of different types and sizes of fire extinguishers in more than 27 markets in the state, adding that the governor in his proactivity and commitment to the safety of life and property extended the equipment to all major markets in the state. Ohaa, who expressed his gratitude that Governor Ugwuanyi had repositioned the Enugu State Fire Service transforming it from a moribund
government to an effective and more responsive department, revealed that
the firefighters who will attend the new Mini Fire Service stations had been recruited and were currently undergoing Basic Firefighter Training.
He announced that the construction of a proper modern head office of the State Fire Service in Enugu by Governor Ugwuanyi’s administration has been completed pending the inauguration by the Governor.
In his speech, the Commissioner for Rural Development, Barr. Dr. Kingsley Udeh applauded Governor Ugwuanyi for the proactive measures his administration is implementing to safeguard the lives and property of merchants and all the people of the state.
Dr. Udeh therefore urged the people of Enugu State, particularly those of Enugu North Senatorial District, to reciprocate the governor’s gesture.

Elated traders revealed that Ugwuanyi had written his name in gold as the first governor since the inception of Enugu State to positively transform the State Fire Service for optimal results.

helped them grow their various businesses with the sum of N50,000 each won through open raffles, adding that youth employment in the State Fire Service had not only given unemployed youth work, but had also contributed to the establishment’s success story
