Marcus Rashford considers equaling Wayne Rooney’s record of eight consecutive games scoring at Old Trafford to be the highlight of his career.
Rashford, who is in prime goalscoring form, spoke after winning United’s December Player of the Month award. The player is now at the level of Rooney’s 21st century record streak since 2010.
He beat out Luke Shaw and Casemiro for the award.
The United striker said he grew up idolizing Rooney for the way he approached the game.
“He was one of my heroes growing up and someone I always used to enjoy watching, probably not just because he’s a great player but also because of his personality on the pitch.
“It was the things that I was drawn to when I was younger and watching it,” Rashford told MUTV.
