
Unconfirmed reports reaching MyNewsGh.com indicate that the Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, has submitted his letter of resignation to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The Minister, who has a PhD in Agricultural Economics from Cambridge University, has been Minister for Food and Agriculture since 2017 when the Akufo-Addo administration took the reins of power.
Mr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto has made no secret of his presidential ambitions and his resignation is believed to allow him to run for the flag-bearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
