Cletus Avoka announces that he will not seek re-election to Parliament in 2024

Zebilla Member of Parliament (MP) Cletus Avoka has announced his departure from the legislature, noting that from December 2024, he will not seek another term. He thanked his constituents for the opportunity to serve.

Mr. Avoka, who has contested every parliamentary election on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ticket in Zebilla constituency (formerly Bawku West constituency), winning six times and losing twice, made it known during a meeting of the NDC Youth Wing and Ceremony Dinner in Zebilla.

“At the end of 2024, he would have completed 24 years in Parliament. I want to take this opportunity to thank my constituents, formerly Bawku West Constituency and now Zebilla Constituency. You have been so loyal to me; so selfless with me, you have supported me, you have placed your trust in me… So my position is that as of 2024, I will not compete again. I am going to leave the parliamentary elections and maybe do something else, ”he said at the ceremony.
