Yes, you read that right. JPJ is working for the online renewal of driver’s license and road tax. No more queues at your offices or at the post office! This was brought about by Transport Minister Anthony Loke yesterday when he visited JPJ Negeri Sembilan.
In a Facebook post last night, Loke said that he visited JPJ Negeri Sembilan with the director general of the road transport department, Datuk Zailani Haji Hashim, after an event in Seremban, where Loke is an MP. He noted that JPJ has added new kiosks in branches nationwide to facilitate the renewal of the road tax and readand to reduce congestion at the counters. He added that the hours of operation of these kiosks will be extended beyond office hours.
“The digitization process in JPJ will not stop at the kiosk level, but we will continue working to offer online services,” added Loke. “Imagine renovating read and the road tax through an application on your smartphone: how easy and fast? Yes, JPJ is working for that!” added the returning MoT minister.
This good news comes immediately after Loke promises a “big change” in the quality of road tax stickers, which has received complaints from the public for many years. “I know that many have complained about the quality of the road tax stickers. This issue is in our attention and a big change will be implemented this year,” she said earlier this week.
“Our main agenda is to make things simple for the rakyat and I don’t want to see people standing in long queues at JPJ offices which worries them,” he added, stating that JPJ’s main agenda this year is implement digitalization in its main services toward rakyat.
