2023: I will deliver more than 1.5 million votes for Tinubu – Oyetola

Former Osun State Governor Adegboyega Oyetola has vowed to deliver more than 1.5 million state votes for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the All Progressive Congress, APC, presidential candidate, in the February 25, 2023 presidential election. .

Oyetola made the revelation at the inauguration of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council in Osogbo on Thursday.

Oyetola, who is the State Coordinator, Tinubu/Shettima PCC, also tasked the newly inaugurated members to intensify efforts to secure the overall victory of the APC presidential candidate and his running mate and all party candidates in the upcoming general election. .

“No stone would be left unturned to ensure the rise of Tinubu and Shettima, as well as all party candidates in the National and State Assembly elections.

“The country is in dire need of a competent person like Tinubu to build on the achievements of the current administration and boost the nation’s potential for the country’s socio-economic growth and development.

“There is no room to experiment on the choice of the next president at this critical moment in Nigerian history, hence the need to elect Tinubu, whose record of political pedigree, responsible and responsive good governance is second to none.

“The Tinubu/Shettima ticket is divine and it’s worth noting that the team is powered by tried and trusted hands as it offers renewed hope across all quarters.”

In his speech, Osun House of Assembly Speaker Timothy Owoeye stated that Oyetola will return for a second term as governor of the state before July 5, 2023.

He also expressed his confidence that Tinubu would also be elected the next president of the country.

He described the result of the Osun gubernatorial election on July 16, 2022 as a temporary setback.

In reaction, the Democratic Party of the Peoples of Osun (PDP) described the statements attributed to Oyetola and the president of the State House of Representatives as hallucinations.

The Osun PDP made this known in a statement signed by the duo of Akindele Adekunle, the acting chairman of the Osun PDP, and Sunday Bisi, the CEO of the Atiku Okowa Presidential Campaign Council, Osun State.

The duo also accused the Speaker, Owoeye, of betraying his oath of office, undermining the sanctity of state authority and conspiring to destabilize a state where he heads an arm of government.

They said: “At first we denounced that the Speaker disrespected the office he holds, that he rose above petty partisan politics, and that he told the truth to Mr. Oyetola, who has recently been listening to the whispers of the devil. We strongly condemn the lack of courage and the disappearance of the art of governing demonstrated by the president of the Chamber who today openly rebelled against the will of the people of Osun and who has shamelessly embraced the ignoble falsehood and propaganda of a defeated Oyetola .

“We thought the Speaker of the House had risen to act as a statesman, unfortunately Mr. Owoeye failed the test today.

“At the same time, we are alarmed that a sitting Speaker of the House has openly exposed a sinister agenda to undermine the integrity of the judiciary by making proclamations on a matter that is subjudice. We want to record that it is against the protocol, against the democratic trial and against all civilized norms to anticipate the judicial results. The president of the Chamber must apologize to the judiciary, retract his reprehensible statement and muster the courage to come out of the puppet disguise of the supposed leader who is worshiping at the feet of a man incapable of hearing the voice of God ”.

Osun’s PDP, which has maintained that Ademola Adeleke was duly elected, urged state electorates to reject the APC in the February general election.
