The National Drug Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Katsina arrested an alleged major supplier of tramadol in the state and recovered 1,140 capsules in his possession.

Mr. Mohammed Bashir, the NDLEA commander in the state, made it known in Katsina on Friday.

He said the suspect, a 40-year-old man, who has been hiding under the pretense of operating motorcycle parts, was arrested on Thursday.

Bashir said the Enugu state suspect was arrested at his residence with the first shipment of drugs.

“As usual, we did not stop there, we continued with our investigations.

“We also found some of the drugs in his vehicle.

“We did a follow-up operation and got his Toyota Sienna vehicle and recovered more from the exhibit.

“You will be interested to know that this person is also a parts dealer, as we spoke to you, we actually sealed your shop because we believe that drug proceeds are what you use to run your business,” he said.

He said the NDLEA sealed off the suspect’s shop for further investigation and prosecution.

He expressed deep concern about the amount of drugs seized.

The seized tramadol, he said, weighs around 3.5kg. (YAYA)
