Ford’s global boss takes TV talk show host Jimmy Fallon for a wild ride in the Australian V8 Supercar

Ford Global CEO Jim Farley took TV show host Jimmy Fallon for a quick spin in an Australian V8 Supercar version of the Ford Mustang.

Ford Global CEO Jim Farley has returned behind the wheel of a V8 supercar and brought Jimmy Fallon, host of the tonight show in the US, for a wild ride around a test track in Detroit.

“How dangerous is this?” Fallon asked before the ride began.

“Fantastic. Aaaarggghhh. Oh my gosh,” he then yelled from the passenger seat of the howling V8 race car.

“Wow. My palms are sweating. That was crazy,” Fallon said as she collapsed on the ground after the ride.

The exciting ride wasn’t as scary as it seemed, as Mr. Farley is a successful hobby racer who races his own classic Ford GT40.

He’s also driven a V8 supercar several times in the past, even demoing the Mustang at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK in 2021.

The new Mustang will be used as a ‘Gen3’ racer when V8 Supercars becomes a Ford Mustang-versus-Chevrolet Camaro competition next year.

The fastest lap car is the older S550 series and never raced in Australia before it was shipped to the US in 2015 for show and demo work.

Aside from the Goodwood races in Britain, Mr. Farley had previously driven it on the Detroit test track in a shakedown before the Festival of Speed.

Farley also forged a new connection with V8 Supercars last month when he met Cam Waters, who finished second in a Ford Mustang in this year’s Australian championship, when they were both taking a refresher course with a leading British racing driver trainer. , Rob Wilson, at Goodwood in the UK.
