It has emerged that Assin Kennedy Central Constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Ohene Agyapong in 2019 showed secretly filmed video to ousted Minister of State Charles Adu-Boahen, which captured the embattled minister collecting money from a table offered by Tiger Eye researchers. PI disguised as Arab investors.
Said video, which was contained in a recently released investigative article by Anas Aremeyaw Anas and titled “Economics of Galamsey”, was recorded in Dubai on February 8, 2018.
Following the release of the video content, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo rescinded the appointment of Charles Adu-Boahen as Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance.
Details are emerging that maverick NPP deputy Kennedy Ohene Agyapong had the video in his possession which he said was intercepted to save the New Patriotic Party from embarrassment.
Speaking on NET 2 television in February this year, the outraged Member of Parliament (MP) in his notable rants said: “The party [NPP]You are doing me a disservice and I advise anyone who tries to dishonor me, the kind of information I will get out of Anas will surprise you. He wanted to do the evil Anas, which is what he does all the time, he was going to show a video in which a minister took money from a table like this”.
Kennedy Agyapong stressed that the secret video recording of the minister and other senior government officials and businessmen was a grand scheme by Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
“The [Anas] I wasn’t going to show the part where he schemed with some people and said this was a political fight in 2018. For a political fight in 2018, who was in power? I will not let anyone sacrifice me,” she added.
In what turned out to be the story of Charles Adu-Boahen, the Assin Central MP on the February 2022 TV show said he showed the video to one of Anas’s victims, who he said was a minister.
“As I speak now, I am not speaking vaguely, but I did show the video to the person involved and told them that when you went to Dubai to meet some people, this is what they did to you.” he revealed
The reasons for Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ four-year delay in publishing the said investigative article are still unclear, as it is suspected that the MP’s interception of the video through a disgruntled member of the investigation team of Tiger PI interrupted the process causing the delay.
