Goal: 10K a Day?

Posted in Blog, Observing Life

I’m home from the hospital.  This had to be the most relaxing Thanksgiving ever.

I’d already bought all the turkey dinner fixins.  The big dinner was cancelled, but I can now cook at my leisure without all the one day fuss and muss.  I just put my turkey in the oven.  It had been thawed for Thanksgiving and was sitting in the refrigerator taking up a lot of space.  I’ll freeze most of it.

There is so much to be thankful for.  I write about the experience of being a minority, but that pales with the fact that I’m middle-class and live in a first world country.  Many people in the world would be more than happy to trade places with me for the opportunities I’ve been afforded and the abundance I enjoy.  I personally just took advantage of first rate medical care which I’m fortunate enough to have the insurance to afford, with no deductibles or bills hanging over my head.

I didn’t miss Black Friday shopping at all.  We have everything we need and spending money on more stuff to bring into the house–well, it just makes clutter.   The child can’t even think of anything she wants for Christmas she doesn’t have already.  I do want an Amazon Kindle Fire (yum!), but will wait until after the holidays in case some kind soul had decided to gift me one.

Life is good.

I was reading a link from somebody in my reader (just who escapes me at the moment) to Zoe Winters, who has an interesting post up about working to achieve writing 10000 words in a day.  I mainly remember her for dramatically swearing off the Internet time and again after intense argument over some simple thing or another. I figured she must be young.  But a 10K a day challenge is something I’d like to get around to trying soon.  I’m writing it here as my official goal.

I’m heavily into editing mode now, and hope to be able to finish it in a week or two and get to writing fresh stuff.  I want to write a contemp IR romance series–very sexy and fun.
